Changing invoice-finance provider should improve something that matters: usable cash, the total cost, service or the way the facility works with your customers.
Review my existing facility →
NBS can discuss a proposed provider change as a commercial funding requirement. For £500k+ facilities, the starting point is the reason to move and whether a replacement could justify the exit cost, new terms and operational handover.
Start with the current provider, facility limit and the change you need. We focus on substantial facilities for established companies, typically £500k and above.
Keep the current arrangement in place while replacement terms, notice and settlement are checked.
Introduce your business and the existing facility through the NBS Finance enquiry form.

Write down the present problem in measurable terms. That might be funding withheld against a major customer, a minimum fee that no longer fits, slow issue resolution or a credit-control service that affects customer relationships. A lower headline rate is only one possible objective.
Compare the incumbent, a renegotiated arrangement and any genuinely available replacement using one debtor-book snapshot. A cheaper offer with tighter eligibility can produce less cash when payroll or suppliers fall due.
Notice, term and termination formula.
Approval, verification and legal requirements.
Security releases and funding timing.
Receipts, debtor notices and reconciliation.
Check the minimum term, renewal provisions, notice window and termination formula. Establish what the outgoing provider needs for settlement and release of security. Replacement terms may remain conditional on a survey, verification, legal documents or the agreement of another lender.
The changeover also needs a practical plan: who handles debtor notices, which bank details customers use, how unallocated receipts are reconciled and whether there could be a temporary funding gap. Do not terminate the existing facility before replacement conditions are understood.
Separate recurring savings from one-off transfer costs and include the internal work involved. Record any changes in collections, reporting, customer caps, guarantee exposure and recourse. Those can be more important than a small price reduction.
The outcome may be a negotiated improvement with the incumbent. A switch is worth pursuing when the commercial gain survives a proper comparison and the handover can be executed without assuming unconfirmed funding.
Assumed, on a consistent usage basis
Assumed exit, setup and legal costs
£14,000 ÷ £1,500 monthly saving
Hypothetical illustration only. Not a client case, quote, lender policy or funding commitment.
Assume a replacement would save a hypothetical business £18,000 a year on the same usage and services. Exit, setup and legal costs total £14,000. Simple payback is £14,000 ÷ £1,500 monthly saving: about 9.3 months. This excludes internal management time and any change in cash availability. If the business expects another major change in six months, the saving alone is a weak reason to move.
Illustrative assumptions only. Not a quote, provider policy or funding commitment.Compare outgoing termination fees with incoming setup, legal, survey, minimum service and discount charges. Confirm release of a debenture and any guarantees. An indicative replacement quote is not evidence that existing security can be released on a chosen date.
Understand facility fees and costs ↗The brief enquiry does not require these documents. Agree the purpose, permissions and appropriate sharing route first.
Agree the communication and information-sharing approach before any contact is made. A transfer eventually requires incumbent involvement, settlement and the necessary releases.
Do not assume it. Availability, receipts and settlement timings need to be mapped with the providers.
This page scopes an NBS funding conversation about a proposed transfer. The separate checklist is an educational preparation guide you can use independently.
